Hazelwood vs. Kuhlmeier

COURT CASE

WHAT HAPPENED?

Students believe that they should be permitted to write about teen pregnancy and the real facts about it and how to prevent it. The principle objects this and the way the students are promoting the situation because it is too informational and too mature for them.

WHO BELIEVES WHAT

MAJORITY- "We have nonetheless recognized the the First Amendment rights of the students in the public schools..."

MINORITY- "A school must be able to set high standards for the student speech that is disseminated under the its auspices..."

WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
