Hawks' Weekly Update

Principal's Note
Hawks’ Weekly Update #9
Parents and Guardians,
As we head into the autumn season, jackets and sweatshirts start to pile up in the lost and found at most elementary schools around the county. Please take a moment to stop by the space between the office and the auditorium before school to retrieve any missing clothing, lunch boxes or water bottles. We plan to donate any unclaimed items in December before we go on break.
A couple other reminders:
Shoes
We have had a couple students sent home with injuries to feet out on the playground because they are wearing flip-flops or sandals. This is the language in the Parent Handbook:
“Children must wear closed-toed shoes for daily physical education activities. Sandals must have a heel strap. No flip-flops without a doctor's note. Roller shoes are not permitted.”
Thanks in advance for your support with this.
Instructional Time
We want to protect instructional time. Please make appointments if you need to speak to a teacher. Even the minutes before the bell rings are precious to a teacher in preparation for the day ahead. We ask that you do not enter the classroom during the school day without permission from the teacher and checking in at the office.
Have a great week,
Pete Selleck
