MMS 2nd Semester Newsletter

2nd Semester Begins!
MMS is excited to start our 2nd semester with our students. As with any new semester comes new energy and an ability to start over to do better. We are working with students in the next week to review our expectations at MMS. We can always use help at home to review what is expected.
With the new semester, we will also be implementing a new bell schedule starting on January 18th. MMS will still start and end at the same time as we did 1st semester. We have taken out the 8 minute break throughout the day and added it on to academic time in class. We have had a rise in inappropriate behavior problems and discipline issues during the unstructured time. Removing break and adding it on to academic class time, will help with student safety and eliminate those behaviors. This change will be reevaluated at the end of the school year.
Free breakfast for students will be offered daily BEFORE school. If a bus or student arrives late, students will still be able to access breakfast during Advisory, if needed.
Please review the expecations below and remind your students that you also know what the rules are at MMS! We ask for support on reminding students to be good citizens at MMS and be responsible for their own garbage and behavior to help our school campus and culture! We want to instill PRIDE in our school! Thank you for your support and conversations at home!
Have an amazing 4 day weekend! We are excited for a great 2nd Semester!

2nd Semester Schedule Information
As 2nd semester begins on January 18th, we will be welcoming many new students to MMS who will be transferring to us from a virtual setting or have recently moved into our school boundary. The increase of students has caused us to shuffle classes and student schedules to accommodate our increasing numbers. Schedules will be final on January 18th. As a result, you may notice schedules change until then.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time of transition.
