What's Up At Marshall?
We have to brag about our Marshall Cross Country team, too!! Coach Loesch says "This year’s Cross Country season is coming to a successful end. Student athletes have shown dedication and perseverance as we battled long distances in the summer’s heat. They’ve shown great sportsmanship at every meet cheering on each other and students from other schools as well. Several runners have earned medals and all runners have made Marshall proud!"
Marshall Drill Team has also accomplished great things already this year! All four teams placed first place at their first drill meet. We look forward to the rest of their season!
Upcoming Events
Marshall hosted our first Parent Teacher Conferences of the year September 27 and 29. If you missed this round, Second Semester Parent Teacher Conferences will be Tuesday, February 7 and Thursday, February 9.
Don't miss Fall Cleanup Day on Saturday, October 22 from 10:00am- 12:00pm. Your help would be very appreciated! We will re-mulch our flower beds, plant some new plants, and pick up trash from all over our schoolyard.
Staff Spotlight
Why did you decide to start a cheer club at Marshall?
"I felt we needed some school spirit! I was a cheerleader and I really enjoyed it and wanted some of our students to be able to experience that joy. Some of our students want to cheer in high school and having this experience will give them more confidence when trying out for high school teams, and gets them involved at school."
What have the girls seemed to enjoy most so far about Cheer Club?
"I think they really do enjoy going to the games and cheering on the (volleyball) team! They've been able to meet and become friends with people they wouldn't have normally."
Is there anything else you would like to share?
"We've really appreciated how supportive and engaged the parents have been with Cheer Club. It also wouldn't have been possible without the support of our great administrators."

Do You Know What Your Child Is Doing Online?
At school, we handle issues that begin on social media and apps which get in the way of learning and our safe school environment.
Students also complain about being tired and often report that it is because they stayed up late playing video games, talking to friends, scrolling on social media, etc. Did you know that middle schoolers need an average of 9-10 hours of sleep each night?
One suggestion is to have your child put their electronics in your bedroom at a certain time so they no longer have access. This will allow your student to sleep without distraction.
