- Busses will arrive at school at 9:00.
Dismissal:
- Dismissal will begin at 12:45.

Building Updates
Mr. Kevin Knowles and Mr. Al Rapa from Buildings and Grounds along with Mr. Edilson, Mr. Cesar, Ms. Digna, and Ms. Johnson worked tirelessly all summer to make Sussex shine and to ensure a safe environment for our students and staff!
Sussex has implemented a number of important health and safety measures.
Our air ventilation systems have been maintained and are fully functional.
- Hand sanitizer stations have been installed throughout the hallways and at entrances and exits.
- Classrooms have been outfitted with no touch hand sanitizer stations and hand wipes.
Desks have been placed and marked at six feet distance.
- Outdoor learning spaces have been set up for outdoor instruction with lawn paint for mask breaks. Two tents for outdoor covered learning areas will be installed. *Children will sit on the grass during this time. Please send your child in with either a towel to sit on and/or a yoga mat labeled with their name on it. On sunny days, application of sunblock prior to coming to school is highly recommended, as . Nnot all outdoor learning areas are covered.
- Signage: Reminders to wear masks inside the facility are posted.
- Social distance decals are installed in the halls.
- Plexiglass installed in the office area.
- Two tents for outdoor covered learning areas have been delivered. Installation will occur within the next week.
- One outdoor hand washing station is available at the back of the school where some of our outdoor learning areas are located.
Additional Changes This Year
Please read the following carefully!
- Students will not be utilizing lockers this year. Personal belongings will be kept on a hook at their desks.
- Students will be provided with individual school supplies. These supplies (pencil box, crayons, scissors, dry erase board, dry erase marker, eraser, math manipulatives etc.) These items must be transported to and from school daily.
- Students will have email addresses that can send and receive emails from within the msdk12.net domain only. This will allow students to communicate with their teachers. Please read the technology policy carefully and with your child/children.
- Students will be having snack time during the school day. Please send your child in with a healthy snack.
- Visitors will not be permitted in the building without an appointment. Visitors with an appointment will be required to complete a health questionnaire before entering the building. This is for the safety of the students and staff in the building. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
