From The Climate Committee (and Sue Wolfram who shared this info!)
Our kick-off event is set for 7:45 - 8:30 on Friday, Jan. 29. During this time in your classrooms, you and your students will be watching the morning announcements, a live penguin feed, and working on puzzles, trivia, and more! These materials will be provided for you. (We will not be going to the gym for a whole school assembly this year.) When it is your turn, you will go to the library to get your book and your picture taken.
Benefits of Having Fun!
Remember to keep filling your container and do whatever makes your heart sing!
Remember that having fun and laughing has been proven to be an effective method of coping with stress. Laughter promotes the health of your heart by lowering your blood pressure, improving breathing, and regulating your heartbeat. Laughter also improves your memory, boosts your immune system, helps you sleep better, and prevents obesity. On top of all this, the body releases endorphins every time you smile. Endorphins are neurotransmitters that send a message of confidence and satisfaction to the brain. Laughter also produces serotonin, a hormone that gives you an all-natural high.
