September 2019
Fantastic start to the new school year!
The 2019-2020 school year has been busy, but we are so happy to have hosted three successful school-wide events:
Library Orientation (alien themed)
Lonestar Reading Roundup
Fall Book Fair
We also hosted specific classes for lessons, kicked off Book Club, and read sooo many books! Take a look at all of the amazing things that happened in the library this month below!
Upcoming Events in October:
National Hispanic Heritage Month
Nathan Hale-Author Visit
Alien Library Orientation
Lonestar Reading Roundup
Fall Book Fair
Ebooks & Audiobooks
8th graders are checking out ebooks and audiobooks in OverDrive! They’re excited to read more books by
Jennifer Nielsen the author who visited us last year!
Research & Citing Sources
Ms.Chew’s Principles of Human Services class is in the library practicing writing in MLA format & citing their sources for their research papers they’ll be writing this school year. Fun fact: These students earn a high school credit for this course!
6th Grade Scavenger Hunt
Ms. Grothues 6th graders participated in a book scavenger hunt that gave them the opportunity to explore different books within fiction genres and informational topics.
We love our new tables!
Thank you PTA for our new library tables! These tables are on casters and the rectangle tables split a part so we can change the arrangement for various lessons and events. Students are saying they are also much more comfortable than the tables we had previously.
