5th Grade News

Week of December 5th--9th

Our theme this year is "Wolfpack Strong." We believe that learning and growing together is the key to our success. Strength lies in the pack, and we will remember this theme throughout the year as we work cooperatively to be successful!

Learning Objectives This Week

Wednesday 12/7--Poetry Assessment (major)

Create poems using a variety of poetry elements and figurative language.

Fraction Assessment (major grade):

Artley, Roberts, Adams, and White - Wednesday, December 7

Williams, Gwin, Miller, and Hernandez - Thursday, December 8

***This test is longer than previous assessments this year. We are building stamina for STAAR testing in March. This assessment will cover fractions primarily, but will also include a few decimal and whole number questions. Because this test is longer, students will have 2 hours to complete it. This is the reason for 4 of the classes testing on Wednesday and the other 4 testing on Thursday.***

Learning how landforms such as deltas, canyons, and sand dunes are the result of changes to Earth's surface by wind, water, and ice.

***Test on December 13th over alternative energy and landforms***
