#eTwinning 2016/17, Greece- Spain

What is our project about?

Our students are digital natives but are they responsible digital citizens? Do they know how to build their digital persona and are they able to manage the short and long term impact of their online identity? Our aim is to help them become aware of the traps internet mishandling hides, how to behave responsibly online, to explore the elements of digital citizenship -#eTwcitizen 16- and make a proper use of their digital presence. And all these through a variety of creative and inspiring collaborative activities that will enhance a number of competences and skills and help them become active learners.

Getting to know each other

Students present themselves in wordclouds and invite their partners (working in transnational teams) to write a paragraph about them.

LOGO CONTEST

A project always needs a logo to stand for it so students tried to exercise their imagination and creativity and produced several logos either digital or handmade ones.

Christmas celebrations

Christmas holidays are always better enjoyed when we exchange cards ,wishes and treats with our partners.

Augmented reality - Aurasma

Both Greek and Spanish students were introduced to augmented reality , Aurasma in particular, and had fun using it in their project. With the application downloaded on their mobiles they could see in their partners' wordclouds surprise videos with greetings and some extra information. Real fun!!

DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP

Which are the 9 elements of digital citizenship? Mike Ribble's article provided students with all the necessary information so as to realise how they can be good digital citizens.

How Digital is your town?

Students become reporters and try to find out how digital their towns are.They prepare a list of questions to ask and using a questionnaire and their mobile phones record members of their communities. Guided instructions were given on twinspace and here is their work.



  • They collected their questions on a PADLET.
  • They used two questionnaires to ask people of their communities.Spanish and Greek.

Dangerous or Safe?

Is it Internet always safe to use?Students surfed the net and found videos and ads that commented on their partners' posts. HERE Our aim was to enhance their digital conscience even further and show them the importance of protecting themselves online.

Upon reflection of all the materials provided and discovered by the students themselves they prepare their own posters either by drawing or using a list of webtools such as



So students vote to see how many want to create digital or handmade posters ,get in groups and present their creations in a PADLET . They do not miss to comment on each others' posters, too !!

Digital Footprint

What is a digital footprint and why should all internet users be aware of its importance?

Although students use the internet lots of hours on a daily basis, there are basic facts they are not aware of, digital footprints being a basic one.

So we consider it important for our students to be introduced to basic internet related concepts and become responsible e-users. Specifically they watched:

Digital netiquette

Digital netiquette refers to the rules of behaviour you should follow online.

Our students feel ready now to suggest their own rules to share with the rest of the school community. HERE they are .

A week without my mobile- ORDEAL!!!

At the last stage of our project we wanted to find out whether our students were smartphone addicted or not. We prepared a questionnaire for them and invited them to answer it. HERE is our questionnaire and HERE are our students' answers.

Dissemination of our project

A project has value when its outcome is shared with others, school and local community too. So Spanish students offered an interview to the school's Mass Media group.
