Carver County Shooting Sports and Wildlife Project Kick-Off
Interested in learning more? January 29, February 19 and March 12, 2023 registration is now open.
Cake Decorating Series
Join us to learn more about cake decorating. It will be a time to share and practice what we learn from one another.
There will be four virtual sessions from 6 to 7 p.m. (with an optional half hour from 7 to 7:30 p.m.) on the following Thursdays: Feb. 2, 9, 16 and 23.
4-H youth in grades K-13 Note: Parent/guardian support may be needed for those in grades K-3.
Cost: $15 per household

Market Beef ID deadline-February 15.
Find all the information on the Animal ID website, including the 2023 Beef information sheet, ID requirements, and Animal Science Updates. If you need ear tags you can call the office or fill out this form and tags can be sent to you. Cost is $2.00 per tag.

Youth Education Opportunities
Farm Service Agency loans available for youth - The Farm Service Agency (FSA) offers loans for individual young people to start and operate income-producing projects of modest size in connection to their participation in 4-H clubs, FFA, a Tribal youth group, or similar agricultural youth organization. Projects financed with an FSA youth loan need to provide an opportunity for the young person to acquire experience and education in agriculture-related skills.
Statewide 4-H Photography Contest -Select your best winter wonderland photo (with no or minimal editing) from the 2022-2023 4-H year and submit it with up to two (2) sentences that explain the photo! January 31, 2023 Deadline to submit photo.

4-H Youth Leadership Event Opportunities

Interactive leadership opportunity to create a vision for your community - Met Council would like youth's input in its visionary approach to create a 2050 regional plan. Apply here.
BLU Building Leadership and Understanding (BLU) BLU is for youth in grades 6-9. They will participate in hands-on activities where they build leadership skills, form relationships with other youth, learn to work together and make a difference in their communities. BLU is facilitated by youth leaders from the Minnesota 4-H State Ambassador program and supported by a team of adult chaperones.
TEEL Teens Engaged in Emerging Leadership (TEEL) is a workshop for youth in grades 10+ to gain valuable leadership skills while connecting with peers from other counties and regions. This workshop builds on the leadership skills older youth have developed at BLU and through their lived experience both within and outside of 4-H. Teens will engage in large and small group discussions. It is designed and facilitated by a team of older youth and young adult leaders.
YELLO Youth Exploring Leadership and Learning Opportunities (YELLO) is a 4-H leadership conference for youth in grade 7+ that prepares youth to learn and lead in their communities. YELLO is planned and facilitated by the Minnesota 4-H State Ambassadors. The conference will be held June 13-16 at Bemidji State University.
