2019-2020

Welcome Back!

Welcome to the 19-20 School Year! I hope everyone had a great summer and are looking forward to a fabulous start to school. I would like to welcome our new Kendall Knight families. We can't wait to meet you!

Our meet the teacher night will be held next Monday, August 12 with the grades and times listed below in upcoming events. Your child's teacher will be reaching out to call you this Friday, August 9. Please know any previews in your parent portal are a work in progress and are subject to change. Thank you for your patience as we work to balance each class with our current enrollment.

We have several new staff member to welcome including Mrs. Charlene Carrillo- PK Teacher, Mrs. Faith Kasukonis- 2nd grade, Mrs. Corrinne Straud- 3rd grade, Mrs. Kim Gomez- Reading Specialist, Mrs. Erin Griffin- Librarian, Mrs. Shelby McMullin- Pre-K Teaching Asst., Mrs. Crystal Cousert, Intervention Teaching Asst., and Mrs. Mariana Hinojosa- Speech Therapist Asst. In addition we have a new counselor in the office, Mrs. Holly Grove.

Our school day for this year will be 7:35-3:00. The building will open each morning at 7:05 to get ready for the day. Please do not drop off your children before 7:05, as there will not be staff on duty to monitor the students. Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students then wait outside their classroom and 4th and 5th grade students wait in the gym. The students are then go to their classrooms at 7:30 with the tardy bell ringing at 7:35. I would encourage you to arrive early the first 2 weeks of school as the car drop off traffic tends to be greater during these weeks. Finally, at the end of the day the students will be released at 3:00 this year. Every parent either picking up students from their car or parking to pick up their student will need a KES parent pick up sign. Having your child ride the bus or be picked up with you in your car are the safest pick up options. Due to limited parking, it is not recommended to park and exit your car to pick up your child.

We hope that all students will return to school ready and eager to learn. Working together as a team, we are confident that this will be another great year at Kendall Elementary. The office is open daily during school from 7:05 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any specific questions or concerns.

See you soon!
