Principal's Message
Thank you all for taking the time to meet with your child's teacher(s). Having a strong partnership leads to greater success.
Progress Reports (Report Cards) will be available to view in MasteryConnect on Tuesday, November 16th. MasteryConnect is where you can see updated progress on learning standard mastery.
Please note: there may be some standards that have not yet been assessed, even if they are listed in First Trimester. We are working to do what's best for our students, which might mean slowing down in class a bit. Also, you might see standards that are RED or YELLOW, meaning that your child has not yet mastered that standard/skill. We use the term "yet." Your child's teacher will continue to work with your child and will reassess as needed. The non-mastered skills are not considered "done" until the end of the year. If you have questions about your child's progress, please be sure to ask the teacher for clarification.
Thank you!

Breakfast Drop Off
Please, if you are NOT dropping off for breakfast, stop your car at the sign shown below. That way, there is space for cars to get through for breakfast drop off only. Then, at 8:45, the whole line can pull forward for school drop off.
MASKS
Please help us keep the students safe, while not spending hundreds of dollars on replacement masks.
Thank you!
School-Wide Second Step Focus
Emotion Management teaches us "how to build emotion vocabularies, practice identifying their own and others’ emotions, and recognize the importance of labeling and managing emotions."
Next week, your child should learn how to:
- Kindergarten: be able to demonstrate using context and behavior clues to label feelings, and to demonstrate slow breathing.
- 1st Grade: be able to demonstrate using context and behavior clues to label feelings, and demonstrate at least one way to feel calm.
- 2nd Grade: be able to explain why different people can have different feelings in the same situation.
- 3rd Grade: be able to demonstrate that they recognize differences between levels of intensity of similar emotions.
- 4th Grade: be able to demonstrate their ability to rethink a variety of situations.
- 5th Grade: be able to identify two things they can change in a recurring situation to manage strong emotions.
