Kindness
"Kindness is the language that the deaf can hear, and the blind can see."
-Mark Twain
It seems that this time of year it is a little easier to be kind. So, it begs the question: what prevents us from showing this kindness year round? Perhaps it is a misconception of the word itself, or a misinterpretation of the physical manifestation of kindness. In reality, showing kindness is one of the few things in our hectic world that is not overly complicated. Greeting someone, smiling, asking a question when one has been asked of you, or even opening a door are examples of kindness in its simplest forms. Paying for the person behind us in the drive thru, shoveling our neighbor's snow-covered driveway, or comforting a friend going through a rough time are more elaborate examples. Regardless of the level of kindness, it really comes down to just being a good human!
