Trafalgar Elementary School
August 10, 2018
Welcome to Team Trafalgar!
We are excited to welcome all of our families to the 2018-2019 school year! Our custodians have spent the summer cleaning each and every classroom. Some areas received new carpeting and fresh paint. The cafeteria staff if ready to serve breakfast and lunch to all students. We would like to welcome several new teachers to our building- Mr. Alotta, Mrs. Moran, Mrs. Hill, Mrs. S. Brooks, and Ms. Bisbe. With these additions to our staff, we are looking forward to the growth our students will make this year.
As a Kagan Model School, we will begin our year with team-building and class-building structures to build relationships in the classrooms. Students will be re-introduced to the 7 Habits and begin the year by reading "The Energy Bus". Throughout the year we will be reading several books as part of our One Book, One School.
Respectfully,
Mrs. Murphy and Ms. Milstein

Parent Pick Up
PARENTS ARE ALLOWED TO WALK STUDENTS TO CLASS ON AUG. 10, 13, 14 AND 15.
Parents using the Parent Pick Up line should line up using the driveway immediately to your right upon entering the gate. The car line will begin at the stop sign until asked to pull forward around 2:05. There are ten cones along the front of the building that are used to designate student waiting areas. Please have your car tag visible at all times. If you do not have a car tag, please park and go into the office to pick up your child.Parent Drop Off
During the first two weeks of school our parent drop off is typically a bit longer than normal. Please enter our drop off loop through the drive immediately on your right upon entering the gate. Remain in the parent drop off line until you have pulled in front of the building. Please remain in your vehicle and a staff member or safety patrol will assist getting your child out of the car. Please be sure that your child is ready to exit your vehicle when you stop. We will begin dismissing from cars at 7:20 and hold students in the breezeway until 7:25. Our school day begins at 7:55, so if the gate is closed students will need to enter through the office to be signed in to school.
Rainy Day Dismissal
In the event of severe weather (rain, lightning, high winds), dismissal may be delayed. Bus riders will be dismissed as buses pull under cover. Walkers and bike riders will be held until the lightning is a safe distance away. Parent pick up may take a little longer than usual. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority.
