Updates from Mrs. Froning

March 27, 2020

Thank you for your support from the homefront!

At this time, our ultimate goal in moving to a virtual classroom is to create a way for teachers and students feel connected, provide learning opportunities, and ensure a sense of stability for our school communities. We hope you and your students continue to enjoy the opportunity to feel connected to our teachers and find the activities easy to engage in as best fits your families needs/schedules. We love to see the kids commenting and posting pictures. Thank you for supporting your student with their daily engagement in their Google classrooms. Note: Teachers will NOT be posting activities in Google classroom during the previously schedule Spring Break week April 6- 10th .

A Special Message from Mr. Nolan (School Psychologist)

Hello Parents and Staff of Oakley Park Elementary,

In case you haven't met me, my name is Scott Nolan and I have been a school psychologist for the Walled Lake School District for the past 26 years. I have worked at Oakley Park for the past two years. I wanted to let you know I have created a Google classroom to students, parents, and staff. Please visit my Google classroom for ideas to reduce anxiety. In the last week, I have also been recording the reading of the Wizard of Oz, one of my favorite books. The code for my Google classroom is: oa7crhv. Also, if you need to connect with me for other concerns please send me an email at scottnolan@wlcsd.org. Stay safe and be well.

Pictures Needed for the 2019 -2020 Yearbook

Can we use the playground?

We have received a directive from the Oakland County Health Division. Our playground is closed until further notice.

PTA Elections for the 2020-2021

PTA Board member positions will be voted on at the April online meeting. We are looking for OPE parent volunteers to fill these roles for the upcoming school year.

Board positions do require more of a commitment and include additional meeting time each month. However, our board is very flexible and accommodating to members schedules and needs. It is a great way to become more involved at OPE. We would love to have you join us in serving our awesome school community!

Take a look at the attached descriptions of each opening, then email Sarah Garrison if you are interested, or with any questions. sjgarrison13@gmail.com
