Coppell ISD Strategic Design Audit Feedback (they are still looking for more respondents)
We at Coppell ISD are excited about the results of Phase I of our Strategic Design effort. We hope by now you’ve seen our new Mission Statement and our four Core Values centered around the themes of relationships, engagement, redefining success and great teaching.
Now that our community has helped us define who we are and what we value, we are looking forward to Phase II of this effort, where we will hone in on specific opportunities to fully realize these Values over the course of the next few months and years. Our first step in that process is to once again hear from you, our community.
We are kicking off a Core Values Audit for each of our campuses. This Audit is designed to better understand how we are living out our Values. We, again, are encouraging our campus community to complete this Audit. We will use this important insight to help identify specific opportunities for focus over the coming months and years.
The Audit can be found at www.coppellisd.com/corevaluesaudit. For all other details about our Strategic Design process, please visit www.coppellisd.com/strategicdesign.
On behalf of Coppell ISD, let me personally thank you for your time, your insight and your contributions to this important effort.

Preorder YAFF Brownies
Hello everyone!
As you may have heard, the Youth Action Film Festival is running a “Month of Love” throughout February. Since our brownies were really popular when we first held our bake sale, we’ve decided to give people the option to order entire trays of them! You can find the order form to it here: https://goo.gl/forms/Jfxsd5N2vVMghfgw1
The trays will cost $25 each and are about 9 inches by 11 inches in size. We have 2 types of brownies to choose from as well: a 5 layer brownie, and a fudge brownie with various toppings. More information on them can be found on the order form linked above.
There are also some important deadlines regarding the orders:
- By Monday the 11th at 11:59pm, all orders need to be placed
- By Tuesday the 12th at 5:00pm, all payments must be made. They can either occurin person to Mrs. Bence or online to a PayPal linked in the order form.
- On Wednesday the 13th after school, pickups will be taking place outside of the gym during our bake sale.
Thank you!

Recruitment Season
We are entering our big push for recruitment for the 2019-2020 school year. Every year we host 8th graders on our campus for 3 days of Shadow Days. This year's Shadow Days are this week! We will also be holding recruitment meetings for parents over the course of the next few weeks. Please pass along the flyer about our New Tech @ Nite event to your friends. Last year, it was our most successful recruitment event and it was amazing to see all of the rookies signing their commitment letters!
Know a homeschool or private school learner who wants to join us? We have a school day tour just for them on February 8th.
Have any recruitment questions? Don't hesitate to contact Steffany Batik.
Note from the Nurse
Influenza activity is increasing throughout Dallas County. As in past influenza seasons, the health and safety of all learners is a priority for New Tech. Since flu can spread easily from person to person, we need your help to prevent cases of flu in students and staff. It is important for all to take the following precautions at this time:
- Monitor the health of your learner by checking for fever and other flu symptoms every morning. Symptoms of flu usually include fever with cough or sore throat, and sometimes runny nose, body aches, headache, vomiting or diarrhea.
- Staff and learners with symptoms of the flu must stay at home and cannot return to school until they no longer have fever of 100 degrees or higher (without the use of fever reducing medications), diarrhea, or vomiting for at least 24 hours.
- Ill learners should be encouraged to drink plenty of clear fluids to keep from becoming dehydrated.
- Remind all household members to wash their hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer regularly, cover their cough with their elbow or sleeve, and to avoid touching their face.
- Have all eligible household members vaccinated for influenza.
