Cardinal DiNardo's Statement on Santa Fe High School's Shooting
I am deeply saddened by the shooting this morning at Santa Fe High School. My prayers, along with the prayers of the faithful of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, are with the victims and families of those killed and injured in this horrific tragedy. During this most difficult and challenging time, I know the Archdiocesan community will unite to support and offer healing to those affected. As a society, we must strive for a way to end such acts of senseless gun violence in our schools and communities.
CCCS held a moment of prayer this morning at 10:00 for our Santa Fe neighbors.

Summer Reading 2018
Summer reading is a vital part of the educational growth of children; therefore, students entering grades first through eighth will have assigned reading over the summer. This reading should be pleasing as well as challenging for students. The purpose of our summer reading program is to keep students reading and learning.
Summer reading requirements will be sent home in this week's Tuesday Folder.

We Say Farewell!
It is with mixed emotions we say goodbye to the following faculty members:
- Mrs. Marian Howe, Kindergarten teacher assistant, is retiring after 17 years of service. Although she will no longer be working with students, Mrs. Howe will be enjoying her time educating and helping to raise her grandchildren. What a blessing!
- Ms. Mary Jane Covington, librarian/computer teacher, is hoping to return to the public school system after 7 years of service with CCCS.
- Mrs. Heidy Umeh, 1st grade teacher, will be staying home to raise her new baby. She's only been with CCCS one year, but Mrs. Umeh won't be a stranger, as her son will be a member of the PreK 3 class next year.
We are extremely grateful for their service. Please keep these three ladies in your prayers as they enter a new phase of their life's journey.
