Dear Parents and Carers,
This week we have been thinking about our mental health in classes and in assembly as this is an area that is often overlooked in children. Both nationally and within our own school there has been a rise in anxiety and mental health concerns amongst pupils since the pandemic but the good news is that the amount of support and knowledge around this area is increasing too.
Our digital leaders led our assembly on Tuesday to talk about Safer Internet Day and how our pupils can keep themselves safe online. Now would be a good time to discuss this with your child whilst it is fresh in their minds especially as the internet is so much a part of their everyday lives.
We have also had the Environmental Health inspector in school this week to inspect our kitchens and I am pleased to let you know that we have again retained our 5 star rating without a single infringement.
Finally this week, we have noticed that the PE uniform rules are starting to be misinterpreted. Our PE uniform is worn only on days that the class has PE and is still school uniform.
It consists of:
- Black shorts or joggers
- White T-shirt
- Red hooded sweatshirt (Plain, no logos) or school jumper
- White socks
- Black sports trainers
Reminder letters will be sent out to pupils in the wrong uniform so that you are aware and the school can help with providing second hand items if you are struggling with cost. Please let your class teacher know.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Karen Williams

World Book Day - Thursday 3rd March
It is the 25th anniversary of World Book Day on the 3rd March, and we are planning a great day full of all things literary. As part of our celebrations, children are invited to come dressed as their favourite book character. We particularly love the outfits that have been made from recycled things from around the home, so please don't think you need to spend money on a costume. We would also like children and their families to create a ‘book in a box’ celebrating their favourite story. This can be in a shoe box, cereal box, or even in a match box! If your child would like to make a ‘book in a box’ they need to bring it in on World Book Day, when we will display them in the hall for the whole school to see. Further information about the exciting things we will be doing, will be detailed in a newsletter nearer the time.
