STATE C-H-A-M-P-I-O-N-S
This is the first time that Southridge Middle School has been the State Champs!!! In achieving this prestigious honor, our Academic Spell Bowl team placed 1st out of 48 teams in their class with an overall score of 54. Ruthie Sherer and Nicole Fant had perfect score rounds, and Jazmin Uresti had a near perfect score round.
When this group returned to school on Monday, their fellow students and teachers lined the hallways as they made a celebratory walk through the middle school. CONGRATULATIONS on a job well done!! We are proud of you and the hard work you put in to achieve this award.

These elves cannot do this alone. So, your help is needed. Please allow your elf to purchase items from the list below. Your elf will be in a small group that visits two residents. One elf in each of the groups should also bring in enough wrapping paper for two gifts. The boxes will be provided -- thanks to the candy sales!!!
Student elves may begin bringing in their items on Monday, December 10. The items should be taken to their chaperone's classroom. Gift wrapping will take place on Monday, December 17. Santa's little elves (our 7th graders) will deliver the packages and visit with the residents on Friday, December 21. Buses will depart the school after attendance at 8:05 and return to the building at 9:35.
Hopefully, with your help and with that of the students, this will turn out to be a very rewarding experience for both the residents and the students.

Don't Forget
Students simply come into the library and take a seat. They are asked to sign-in in order for us to track attendance. On Tuesdays and Thursdays members of the SHS National Honor Society are also there to help the students as needed. Staff members who are available include Mrs. Margaret Fleming, Mrs. Beth Stillwell, and Mrs. Deb Stemle. Pictures of some of our students who come in for tutoring are shown below.
THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THIS SERVICE.
