Counselor’s Corner
“In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.”
Margaret Atwood
We love Springtime in the hill country!! We are enjoying beautiful weather, longer days, and lots of outdoor activities with family and friends. However, school is still in session and we need to help our students find a healthy balance in play, chores, homework, and rest. Let’s encourage them to set priorities and boundaries that provide a foundation for success in school and life beyond. These discussions may not always be well-received. Stay strong! You will be glad you did.
Viking Character Trait for April is
Integrity
Integrity is our ability to act in ways consistent with the values, beliefs, and moral principles we claim to hold. Our students have lots of opportunities each day to show integrity:
· Homework
· Social interactions at lunch and recess
· Assessments
· Conversations on the bus
· Conversations at home about their school day
Let’s do our best to use these opportunities to celebrate good choices that keep our hearts happy and our living sincere.
“To believe in something, and not to live it, is dishonest.”
Gandhi
Students will also have a wonderful opportunity to show off their talents in our 1st Annual LVIS Talent Show on May 23, 2018. We will have tryouts the week of April 16 and performers will be announced the following week!
