What a week we have had here! There are so many people to thank as we begin the home stretch to the end of the school year. First a very big thank you to our PTO Board, especially Missy Sadler for all of the work she has done to make this such a successful year. She has truly gone above and beyond to ensure we are able to have the curriculum enriching events and the after school events for our students. I know there is an army of parents who have supported her this year and for that we all send a huge thank you to you all as well.
Field Day #2 appears to have been a great success. A very big thank you to Jen McGuire and Melissa McNamara who met with me quite a few times to plan for this day. The recreation fields were certainly the perfect spot for us to have the events of the day. Parent Volunteers, you deserve a round of applause for the support you gave that day to make the events run smoothly and successfully for the kids. We will continue to work to make this a nice yearly culminating event near the end of the year.
Finally, we had a great kickball game yesterday against Mrs. Katnani's classroom. Mr. Davidson deserves a big thank you for organizing it and thank you to the staff for being there to play. My favorite part of the event was having other fifth graders referee and call the game over the microphone and to support their fifth grade friends.
Have a great weekend!
Mr. Scheufele
Foster's Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts who participated in our Flag Day Ceremony with the President of the Veteran's Council, Matt Sexton. With the busy calendar we celebrated a week early. Thank you for teaching us about the American Flag Mr. Sexton and for your service to our country.

Foster School is Looking for 2 School Council Representatives for the 2023-2024 School Year:
One of the responsibilities of the PTO is run elections for open School Council positions. This year, we will be looking for 2 members.
The School Council is chaired by the principal but includes a variety of stakeholders: parents, students, faculty and staff members, and at-large community representatives. The group meets monthly. It is charged with developing the annual School Improvement Goals and working on the implementation of those goals.
Anyone who is interested in one of these positions, please call or email sadler.melissa@icloud.com / 508-380-1536 by June 9th. The council meets 6-8 times during the school year.
This is a great opportunity for a parent/guardian to get involved at Foster that doesn’t require a major time commitment.

Salad Party In The books!
Last week, our Foster Finest had an amazing school garden to school table salad party during lunch! Planted by our 3rd Graders, harvested by our 5th Graders & tasted by all our students! Thank you to all the great volunteers for making this event happen and to our amazing cafeteria staff for helping us serve. We truly appreciate our custodians for watering the garden beds every day. Foster PTO ensures that every grade gets to plant & harvest with Holly Hill Farm out at the (currently temporary) school garden twice a year, once in fall & once in spring. These series of seasonal lessons not only ensure a full garden experience throughout the year, but also cycle through and connect concepts throughout the grade levels. This builds a deeper understanding of growing healthy, organic food and the sustainable practices that effect local & global communities & ecosystems. None of this would be possible without Christin Eigenmann leading the charge for us! Thank you Christin for all you do!
