Where Excellence is the Standard - Week of September 27th

RANDLE HIGH SCHOOL UPDATE

Dear Randle High School Families,

As some of you may have heard, there is a disturbing social media “challenge” going on where students are encouraged to video and post themselves stealing items from their school. We have not seen evidence of TRHS students participating in this activity, resulting in loss and damage of school property. This type of behavior is unacceptable and would be very disappointing. We expect our students to demonstrate great pride and respect for our school.

I am asking you as parents to please talk with your child about this concern and reinforce with them all of our expectations. Stress participating in activities like this are never good for the campus or themselves. Students who steal or vandalize school property will be disciplined and can face criminal charges or be required to pay restitution for damages.

It has also been brought to our attention there are different monthly challenges were our students are encouraged to do other stunts that are inappropriate and unacceptable. If you child is aware of anyone planning to vandalize the campus or harm/offend another student report it to any staff member. Students can tell any staff member directly, or they can anonymously report it through our SpeakUp app. or the Randle Rescue QR code.

On another note, I wanted to share that we are ending the first 6 weeks of the year. Students have been working the the last two weeks to improve their averages, turn in missing work, and make up grades due to absences. We still have one week left, and it is important to finish strong. Many classes will have daily grades and tests this week. Please remember to attend tutorials and turn in all work regardless of how late it may be. Any grade is better than a ZERO! Many students do not realize how impactful a zero is to your average. It takes three 100's to average out a ZERO to a passing grade.

Parents, we have provided every students a Randle Planner to help our students become more organized, and to help them focus on time management skills. Many students are using it appropriately and have their meetings, practices, and due dates all listed. Please ask your child about the planner and help reinforce this good practice.

If you qualify for school transportation, that is the most efficient way for your child to get to school on time.

Sincerely,

SMART TAGS

Due to many issues with Smart Tags being lost or misplaced over the summer, we are ordering all new Smart Tags for all students. We will supply sleeves and lanyards with the all new tags. Please DO NOT punch holes in the cards as it will deactivate the embedded coding.
