Important Notes
Here are a few important reminders:
- If your child will go home a different way than usual, you will need to write a note. If I do not have a note saying they will go home a different way, I will send them home their normal way.
- If you have any extra boxes of tissues, we would be very happy to have them. We go through them very quickly.
- Please, please make sure your child has a supply of pencils and a dry erase marker (black works best). I have depleted my supply of dry erase markers for the year.
- As the weather has finally turned cold, I would like to remind everyone that we go outside every day unless it is raining. Students who are not appropriately dressed will not be permitted to go outside. Please check and make sure your child comes to school dressed to go outside at 10:00 am. Thank you.
Math Notes
We are at the end Module 3.This has been a huge module. In this module, we covered area and perimeter, multi-digit multiplication including up to four-digit by one-digit, factors and multiples, and long division. We will finish up two-digit by two-digit multiplication this week and next. We will then review for our end of module assessment. I predict we will take the end of module assessment either the end of next week or the last week of January. We will then move onto our next module, Geometry (this one is a lot shorter).
Science Notes
We are continuing our rocks and minerals unit. We are now in the investigation stage of our study into the three types of rocks (igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic), how they are formed, and the rock cycle. The students are really enjoying getting to touch different types of rocks and exploring their specific properties.
