The Process of Photosynthesis: What happens?
Photosynthesis is the process in which plants create their own food using water, sunlight, and carbon dioxide. Energy from the sun starts the process of photosynthesis. Water is taken into the plant by the roots and carried to the leaves through the xylem. Xylem is a series of tubes. CO2 or carbon dioxide is taken into the plant through the stomata on the underside of the leaves. Water vapor is released into the atmosphere through the stomata on the leaves. The products of this process are O2 or oxygen and C6H12O6 or gluclose.
