Prayer for the week
Thank you for our life and our families. Thank you for the opportunities to serve and to live our Your will. We thank you Lord for this new school year. We are so grateful for the peaceful and loving atmosphere present in our school. It is so wonderful to see our students engaged and eager to learn. Please protect us all against sickness and keep us healthy. We need strength and energy to serve you and others.
We ask this prayer through Christ our Lord,
Amen

Terry Fox Challenge- Let's Make it Fun!
École OLPH will be participating in the National School Run Day on Thursday, September 29th, in support of the Terry Fox Foundation. This year, our school theme is “ Soyez Comme Terry”. Although we are a smaller school community, we are hoping to continue to support the Terry Fox Foundation as much as we have in the past. Our goal is to raise $1500 this year.
Our challenges to the students are:
Challenge 1: If the students raise $1 000, the students will get to wear their favorite hats in the school for a week.
Challenge 2: If the students raise $1 250, the students will get a 15 minute recess during the afternoon for a week.
Challenge 3: If the students raise $1 500, M. St.Jean will be duct taped to a school wall and the homeroom that donates the most money in the school will get to pie M. St.Jean!
We will be collecting donations beginning Monday, September 12, until Thursday, October 6. Students are asked to hand in all donations to their homeroom teachers. Donations can also be made online through the Terry Fox Foundation website, the school can be found listed under Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Tax receipts will be issued by the Terry Fox Foundation for any cheque donations greater than $20.Thank you for your support in the fight against cancer!
Grade 8 Quebec Trip
You will receive information regarding the upcoming trip this week. Please note that an information and fundraising meeting will be held on the evening of September 22 starting at 18:30 with the information portion of the evening. We hope to see you there!
Linking Generations
Linking Generations is back in OLPH School again this year, matching grade 7 and grade 8 students with seniors from CloverBar Lodge.
Linking Generations is currently looking for ADULT Volunteers to assist their Program Coordinator with the structured, mentored senior/student program visits.
Volunteers must be able to commit approx. 4 hours/month October to May, over school lunch hours on Thursdays (usually twice per month).
If you have a strong interest interacting with youth and seniors, please contact Debbie Sinclair @ linkgendebbie@telus.net
Thanks Julie.
