LWISD 17-18 School Year
What Should I Expect?
Summer Vacation Is Almost Over--Why Should I Think About 17-18?
Summer is never quite long enough, and among continuing to develop yourself as a professional, possibly taking care of your own kids, getting away for a bit, or just having time to do something different, it passes quite quickly. So, why do you want to think about August?
What Books Are LWISD Books?
The two books above are important books for our district. Engaging Students with Poverty in Mind by Eric Jenson gives us specific strategies for engaging students who live in poverty. With our free and reduced rate at close to 80%, everyone should read this book who works with our kids.
Best Practice by Steven Zemelman and Harvey Daniels is a guide for teachers in LWISD. It includes information concerning the workshop model, gradual-release lesson planning, and subject-area strategies and practices that have been proven effective through research.
