The Battle of San Jacinto
Comparing two views
Students will view the two differing views of the Battle of San Jacinto. First students will read Sam Houston's account of the battle by using Voice Dream Reader. Next students will read Santa Anna's version also using Voice Dream Reader.
Students will pick one side of the argument to discuss. Students will discuss their chosen side using the google doc on my blog. Students are required to 1) State one reason the side they chose was right 2) Respond to 3 opposing student statements to generate a friendly debate on who (Houston or Santa Anna) provided the most accurate account of the battle. 3) Students will return to class and verbally discuss what they have learned from the online discussion.
This activity falls under the Recognition Networks (Voice Dream Reader) and Strategic Networks (Google Drive/Google Doc).
