Mission Possible News!
Youens Elementary, September 16-20
Open House is this Thursday!
A few things to think about:
- Do you have meaningful student work displayed and a plan with your partner for how you will lead your Open House meetings?
- Have you inserted the Title I slides into your presentation? A link was sent out via email, and they are also available in our Youens common under: 19-20 Campus Information-SDC-Open House.
- Have a sign-up sheet for parent conferences, in order to alleviate any impromptu conferences during your Open House!
- If you have any questions, please ask your team leader or supervising administrator.
- A required district sign-in sheet will be provided by Mr. Munoz for all parents that come. Please turn these back into Mr. Munoz's mailbox on Friday.
Reminders:
- Lunch Tags- please make sure they are on student backpacks! This will really help us in the cafeteria in the mornings! A lot of students don't have them on their backpacks yet.
- Check your classroom: Content and Language Objectives should be posted every week
- Lesson plans should be posted by Friday end of the day and be reflective of your planning this week for your content areas
- Replenish emergency sub plans as needed: There have already been some emergency absences and we don't want to put undue stress on teams, having sub plans and resources ready to go helps a lot!
- As soon as you know you need a discretionary day, have a school business day, or will be absent, please get it in!
- Please read flyers with students before sending them home- it really helps when the students understand the flyers are important so they give them to parents :)
- Please send any calendar updates to Ms. Wells.
- Please enter your attendance by 8:15 every day
Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Presentations are Friday!
There is also a door-decorating contest- decorate your door with a Western theme for Friday, and you may win a prize!!!
If you want to take some awesome pictures with your class, check out the main foyer near the art room! There are some great Western displays up for you to utilize throughout the week! Feel free to tweet and tag @Youens_Gators and we will re-tweet to our main page!
Go Fund Me for the Perez Family
Thank you to everyone who wanted to donate to the basket of items in the front office for Santiago! It's not too late if you want to add some items to cheer him up or to give him things to do while he is receiving treatment!
