Red Ribbon Week Fun!!
Prestwick LEarns: Who's planning for next year? We ARE!
This year we will again host Chart Your Course for incoming 6th-8th graders at Prestwick. Kelly Hastings, principal at Strike Middle School will be present to welcome parents. Don't miss the opportunity to meet her as well. There will be booths for courses, food and chances to explore all the courses to help students decide what courses they wish to take. The planning and theme (GAME PLAN) for this year's event was created by Prestwick students. #studentstakingthelead
Our event is expected to be a little busier than last year as all student slated to attend Strike Middle School will attend the event. This leads to an important question about how students know which campus they will attend. We encourage you to watch this weeks Ask the Superintendant where Mr. Gallagher addresses: "Where will "Lottery" students at Prestwick attend middle school?" (click on the image above to watch this video)
Last but not least we want to make sure our Prestwick STEM Academy families know that STEM opportunities are available at both Little Elm High School as well as BOTH Strike and Walker Middle Schools. These beautiful new campuses are designed to offer the same learning opportunities to students in regard to courses offered and flexible building design. It most certainly is a great time to be a LOBO!

Acts of Service Spotlight
Don't miss the chance to show kindness and service with canned food and non-persihable items to the Little Elm Food Bank now through Nov 1st. This is one of our favorite opportunities to give back to an organization that helps families with the most fundamental of needs. Take time to stop by your local store and send these in with your students. All LEISD campuses are competing against each other for pounds per student donated.
We GOT THIS!!! GO PRESTWICK GO!

Signs of Suicide Presentation
On Wednesday, November 13 or Thursday, November 14 all Prestwick STEM Middle School students will view a presentation on the Signs of Suicide. This is a mandated topic for the State of Texas. The presentation highlights the acronym ACT as a way to respond if a friend indicates they are struggling with depression or suicidal ideation: A-Acknowledge your friend's feelings, C-Show that you Care and T-Tell a trusted adult.
Parents may view a video informing them of the content and process by going to https://sossignsofsuicide.org/parent/watch-videos. At the end of the presentation students will respond Yes or No, indicating that they either need to speak with someone about the content or that they do not need to speak with someone.
