Dublin Lego Club Forming Now!

Dublin's 3-5th grade Lego Club is now forming and gathering participants. Third, Fourth, and Fifth grade students will build projects that contain complexity and entertainment using gears and motors while utilizing unique LEGO kits.

The group will explore some of the following concepts: Basic engineering principles, gears and gear ratios, simple machines, force in motion using problem-solving, communication skills and team work. Each week a new and critical element will be taught. Students will be given a problem and will be required to create and build a solution. Attendance and dedication is critical to gaining knowledge that this program offers.

The program will begin on Monday, November 2nd, and will run every Monday and Wednesday for the next 7-8 weeks. Students in grade 3 and 4 will meet on Monday after school until 5:30 PM and Students in grades 4 and 5 will meet on Wednesdays after school until 5:30 PM. Classes will take place in the Dublin Art Room. If you're a fourth grade parent and have a fourth grade student interested, please indicate which night your prefer when you sign up-Monday or Wednesday.

Completed applications/forms are due to the main office no later than Wednesday, October 28th. If you have questions about this group, please contact Mr. Todd Gilliam at 248-318-5012.

Calling All Dublin Dads!

We need help at Dublin and we would like to have our Dublin Dads help out in a variety of ways this year. We are currently seeking Dads to take part in our Dublin W.A.T.C.H. Dog Program at school. We would like to have dads help on the playground, in the cafeteria, and in our car rider and shamrock pick up areas. Later, we would like our Dublin dads to help in classrooms too! We are only asking that you help once this year, or if you can help more often, that is great too! A number of dads signed up for more information at our Meet and Greet, Welcome Back Picnic, and Curriculum Nights. Thank you!

Soon we will be calling or emailing interested dads to schedule a day and time for you to come in and volunteer your time. For more information about W.A.T.C.H. Dogs, please click HERE. If you are interested in helping sometime this year at Dublin, please contact Diana O'Keefe at 248-982-2675 or di_okeefe@yahoo.com. You can also contact Daniel Hunter at 248-342-2163 or dhunter@lakeorion.k12.mi.us. You can also contact Mr. Drewno at school any time to talk about this exciting opportunity to become involved at school. WE NEED YOU!
