Parent Teacher Conference Week

Parent Teacher Conference Week

Students will be dismissed early every day next week! During the week of September 19-23, students will be dismissed at 1:26 every day. This is so that teachers and parents have the opportunity for a personal conference to discuss the academics of each student with their parents. If you have not already reached out to the teacher to schedule a conference please message them today. Our teachers are excited to meet each and every parent and build that trusted relationship between families and the school.

Meet Juliana Berkeland ~ MSW Intern

Hello Everyone!

My name is Juliana Berkeland and I am a Social Work intern from Community Family Guidance Center. I will be working with the counselors and staff this academic year here at Ernie Pyle. I will be on campus every Tuesday from 8am-4pm to assist. My job as an intern is to help manage the caseload amongst the counseling services and help link up staff, kids, and families with resources. I can do things such as work with kid’s on their self-esteem, coping skills, emotional regulation, social skills, relaxation, problem-solving, and other things of this caliber.

You Matter Day - Friday September 30, 2022

We are excited to announce that we will be having our annual you matter day In light of suicide awareness month. "You matter day" is a positive day that allows the students to feel special and supported. This day will be a directed free dress day, and students are allowed to wear purple. As long as students are wearing purple they may dress in any school-appropriate purple clothing. During morning recess, we will have an activity in room 81 to help educate and promote "you matter day." For the activity, our students will write a letter to a friend to express why they matter to them.

Please remind your students that this is available to them should they want or need any help on any assignments.

Data Confirmation is Open


Each year we ask ALL FAMILIES to complete online data confirmation through our Aeries Parent Portal. This important step allows us to have the most up-to-date information for your student. This process must be completed for all students. Parents will need one Parent Portal account to access the entire family and complete data confirmation for each child attending a BUSD school. If you do not have the required information to create a Parent Portal account, please contact your school site. Sites will re-open to the public on Wednesday, August 3rd. If you forgot your password, you can reset the password by selecting Forgot Password.

Attendance Awareness Month

September is attendance awareness month. It is our goal at Ernie Pyle to have all students at school each day they are healthy enough to do so. If your student is not going to be at school please be sure to notify the office. If it is before school starts or after school is out you can still call and leave a message for the office and they will make a note of the absence. We appreciate your communication regarding your student's attendance with us.

School Office

The school office is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 3:45 daily. If you need assistance with registration or have any questions please call the office at (562) 804-6528. If our friendly office staff is assisting another parent, please leave a message and your call will be returned.
