On behalf of the teachers and staff at Larson Elementary, we would like to wish our families a wonderful Spring Break! REST, RELAX, AND ENJOY!

The bus strike is over! Regular Education buses are back at Larson four days per week, Monday - Thursday. We do not have regular education buses on Fridays (until further notice). Special education buses are running five days per week, Monday-Friday.

The Family Teacher Association is hosting a FREE and FUN Spring Fling School Dance on Thursday, March 23rd from 5:30pm - 7:00pm. Flyers will be sent home on Monday, March 20th!

Quarter 3 report cards will be available in ParentVUE on Thursday, March 23rd. To access report cards, log into your ParentVUE account and click on the "documents" tab.

Lifetouch Photography will be at Larson on Thursday, March 23rd to take spring pictures. Kindergarteners will also be taking cap and gown pictures. Order forms will be sent home on Monday, March 14th. Bring your smiles!

The Matanuska Susitna Borough School District is a district of choice with an “open enrollment” policy, which means that a school can accept boundary exemption requests from all MSBSD students who reside outside their boundaries, based on whether they have staffing and capacity. Since schools can receive over 200 boundary exemption requests each year, requests submitted before April 1st have the best chance of being accepted. However, students from out-of-boundary schools must provide their own transportation. If your student is currently attending Larson Elementary on a Boundary Exemption, a new online application must be completed for the 2023-2024 school year.

The March topics for class lessons are empathy and bullying.

As the days get lighter and weather changes you may feel cabin fever set in as you anticipate of warmer days. You may feel yourself needing some relaxing activities as you await the warmer weather and melting of the snow. Below is a great website for finding both creative and relaxing activities that can help reduce stress while having fun. There are mindful read alouds, relaxation exercises, art and creative activities, yoga and movement videos as well as some grounding and meditation videos. These can be great activities for when we need to reduce stress, break free from cabin fever, and get some movement into your day. Happy Spring!

Track and Field begins on Monday, April 3rd. It is open to all fourth and fifth graders. Practice will be Monday-Friday from 3:45pm - 5:15pm. Permission forms will be distributed soon and are attached below:

We will be collecting CANS OF CORN for Frontline mission. The food drive will be from April 1st - April 30th. The top three teachers in competing schools with the highest weight of raised food are eligible to win a professional massage!
