A Message from Our Superintendent
The holiday season is upon us, and I wanted to send each of you my warmest wishes for a happy and safe holiday with your family and friends. This time of the year is a chance to pause and reflect on the past year and Pleasanton ISD is fortunate to have such a supportive community that values learning. Thank you all for standing with us to support the needs of all our students.
We appreciate the hard work and dedication of our administrators, teachers, staff, and parents. By all of us working together, we can help our students succeed and to develop the leaders of tomorrow. Parents, please continue to encourage your children and acknowledge their hard work in pursuing their education. Our administrators, teachers and staff are thankful for the students who come to school every day ready to learn – they give us all a daily reminder of what is important and why we are here. It is a joy to be able to work with these outstanding students. Thank you for your support and trusting us with your children.
I am thankful to be part of the Eagle Family. As we move forward, I will continue to work with our staff, parents, and community to do whatever it takes to help our students succeed. It is not about us; it is about the students. On behalf of the Pleasanton ISD School Board and the district, I wish you all a safe and happy holiday season. Enjoy!

Transportation Information
Driving a school bus is an important job. Bus drivers and bus monitors work extremely hard to ensure students get to their destination safely. The school bus rules are like the classroom. If a student does not follow the rules in the classroom, there is a consequence. Therefore, if a student does not follow the rules on the school bus, there will be a consequence. Some of the consequences are:
· Moving to the front of the school bus
· Changing of assigned seat
· Initiating a phone call to parent from campus administration and/or Transportation
· Conferencing with campus administrator
· Issuing a campus consequence
· Suspending from the school bus
When the bus driver or bus monitor redirects a student, it is like teacher redirection in the classroom, so it is important to listen to them because they are trying to maintain a safe passage home. Several of our bus drivers and bus monitors have been in our district for an exceptionally long time and have a lot of experience working with students and driving a bus. For example, Mrs. Shirley Felux has been a bus driver with Pleasanton ISD for 30 years! That is a great accomplishment. Mrs. Felux has driven both regular and special needs routes and loves working with children.
Please remind your children to be respectful to their bus drivers and bus monitors, just like they would be respectful to campus staff. The PISD bus drivers care about our students and want them to be successful.
