Greetings Fine Arts Educators!
Happy Fourth Of July and Happy Summer!
Dear ECSD Fine Arts Educaton Community,
Greetings! I am Angela Funderburk, former art teacher at Brentwood Elementary, and I am humbled to share that I will have the privilege of serving you as Fine Arts Specialist in the Escambia County School District. My role is to make sure YOU have a meaningful and purposeful experience teaching your students. I am looking forward to getting to know each of you.
As I make the transition as Fine Arts Specialist, I am aware of the anticipation and eagerness that accompanies new leadership in any organization. I know that change can provoke both excitement and anxiety. It is my goal in the next several months to learn about you and your teaching settings. I eagerly anticipate getting to know every Fine Arts educator and learning about your hopes and dreams for our program. What is important to you about your program? As a lifelong learner, what do you want to learn more about? What accomplishments in your program are you proud of? What do you want to work on in your professional life?
Finding out the answers to these questions is one of my fist goals as your servant leader.
I consider each of you is an expert in your field. I believe Fine Arts programs change our students lives for the better. Every day counts. I also know that meaningful collaboration fosters ownership of a district Fine Arts program. Supporting our students to do well at school, and in their lives, is at the center of our work. I am honored to have been selected to serve this community, and will work hard to gain your trust and earn your respect as Fine Arts Specialist.
Please feel free to stop by the J. E. Hall Center and introduce yourself to me. I plan to be in the office every day from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at least. I am also looking forward to visiting some of our band camps and meeting our band directors and color guard directors.
I hope all of our students are safe and that you get to enjoy some quality time this summer! I look forward to getting to know all of you! Happy Fourth Of July!
