Family Literacy Night: Monday, September 24th from 6:30-8:00 p.m.

College Go Week: Sept. 24-28
Next week is College Go Week! This lines up perfectly for our 8th grade students who are attending the JobSpark Field trip on Wednesday as they will be exploring different career paths.
The only exceptions to the college wear are :
1. The choir students that will be going to Beef N Boards on Thursday (nicer dress day)
2. The 8th graders going oin the field trip on Wednesday will be wearing their JobSpark shirts.

Book Fair
Parent's: Our 1st Book Fair of the year "Enchanted Forest" will be Monday September 24th through Tuesday October 2. Please stop in during Literacy night and Parent /Teacher Conferences and help support your school library! There is also a link below to the online site if you can't stop in. The online book fair starts the 19th. You can also pre order copies of the newest Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Save on taxes and have them shipped to the school FREE on the release date!

Student-Led Parent Conferences
Student-Led Parent Conferences will be held Tuesday, October 2nd from 11:00am -
7:00pm. Students will be bringing a sign-up form home for parents/guardians to select two
times for your conference. Be sure to indicate the times chosen as first & second
choice. Students MUST accompany parent/ guardian to these conferences. Report
Cards will be given out at these conferences. There is no school for students on this day.

Fall Sports Update
Results from last week:
The boys tennis team picked up its first team win against Franklin Township East on Tuesday evening.
The 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams lost three conference games 2-0 to Center Grove North, Chapel Hill, and Belzer.
The 8th grade football team defeated Lynhurst by a score of 30-14. With that win, they clinched the first ever MIIC conference championship!
The 7th grade football team defeated Lynhurst by a score of 6-0.

Boys Basketball tryouts will take place after school from 3-5 pm on Oct. 1, 3, 4.
Winter Cheer Tryouts will take place after school from 3-5 pm on October 3, 4.
Be sure to have a physical on file with Mr. Treesh if you are planning to try out for either sport.

How important is attendance for student success?
We do understand that there are situations that arise where an absence can't be prevented. Please help communicate those reasons to the school by calling the main line at 532-6800 between 6:00-7:00 a.m. to report the absence.
Excused Absences Include:
1. Personal illness or injury (please drop off physician's notes to front desk)
2. Death in the immediate family
3. Attendance at a family funeral
4. Religious observances required by church officials
5. Serving as a page in the legislature
6. Court appearance/court detention
7. Working at polls
