Central Elementary: Helping All Kids Find Their Genius

Week of January 19

Message from Mrs. Hill

Families,

It is hard to believe we have approached mid January! We have a four day week but we will make the most of it.

I have to brag on our car rider families! Everyone either has their car tag or a driver's license ready as they pull in the school, and we appreciate that in a big way! Our goal is to move the car line along smoothly in order to honor your time. We know many of you pick up at multiple schools, and we appreciate you being prepared. It is so important for you to have your car tag visible so we can see it as you pull in. Thank you for helping us keep our kids safe, and for helping the car line run like a well oiled machine! A few reminders about expectations in school zones and on campus...

*It is against state law to be on a cell phone in a school zone (including the car line) and to smoke on campus. Please be mindful of these two laws so we can honor the safety of our campus and zone. Thank you!

We already have a large number of sweatshirts, jackets, and coats in our lost and found. Make sure you label your child's belongings so we can return them to the owner if misplaced on our campus.

Have a wonderful week!

Your Lead Learner,

Mrs. Hill

SHOPAROO POINTS UPDATE...

Shoparoo: A Way to Raise Funds for OUR Kids!

We have almost earned $300 for our school through Shoparoo! As of Saturday afternoon we have accumulated over 144,000 Roo Points, and have 108 supporters. Our school wants to reach the 150,000 mark in January, because this will earn our school $300! Every little amount helps, so between Shoparoo, Box Tops, Marcos Pizza, and any other initiative we take on, we can earn cash rewards for our school and avoid fundraising as much as possible.

You can join Shoparoo with the following code: lang5526

What Will Shoparoo Funds Help Purchase?

We need more Chromebooks for our students. The goal is to have a 1:1 setting in third and fourth grades! This means there is a Chromebook (laptop device) for each student´s use throughout a school day. We have several devices currently and want to add more. We would also like to add to our second grade classrooms in the future, and have 1:1 devices for our kindergarten and first grade kids.

Box Tops for Education

Our school collects Box Tops for Education, so please be saving these at home! We are hoping to purchase a brand new flag pole for our campus. The funds we raise with Box Tops will help us achieve our goal.

Below are links to some collection pages for Box Tops. You are free to print these, or you may ask your child to pick up a sheet at school! We will have them available for you.

We have already earned over $700 this school year! Let's keep collecting!
