Fox Prairie Enews
June 5, 2020
I can't believe I am writing our last Friday enews of the year! When we started WAY back in September, I would never have believed that the school year would end this way. We have missed seeing everyone for the last few months, and we are looking forward to seeing you next week when you pick up student belongings. Please make sure to remain in your vehicles to keep everyone safe! :)
Students do not need to sign in for attendance next week but we hope they can join their classes for their last zoom meetings. The Virtual Learning page will remain active in the summer if you would like to revisit any lessons.
June 9 & 10:
Student Belongings pick up at all buildings. Please see the following for details.
June 10:
Last day of school. Early release.
Have a great weekend! See you next week!

Orchestra Update for 2020-2021 5th Graders
Dear 2020-2021 5th Graders & Families,
I am the 5th - 8th grade orchestra teacher in the district. This is the time of year I would normally come and visit SASD 4th grade classrooms with instruments and a short presentation about an opportunity for students to join orchestra as 5th graders. Of course this year that was not possible.
I am attaching an infographic, PDF of a SlideDeck, and a link to a video that talks about 5th grade Orchestra.

Summer EXCEL Update
The survey indicated that the majority of our families would not be likely to sign up for remote instruction so we will not be providing summer remote instruction. While remote instruction will not occur, SASD places a strong value on school and family connections, and a team has been working to develop summer enrichment resources that families can use to encourage connection and engagement even as we are away from one another.
You can access these resources on each school website, as well as the Summer Excel website. The offerings will change each month over the summer and are appropriate for students entering grades K-8. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Director of Curriculum & Instruction Kate Ahlgren (Kate.Ahlgren@Stoughton.k12.wi.us) or Summer Excel Principal Chris Smith (Chris.Smith@Stoughton.k12.wi.us).

Community Cupboard:
With the school building closed, our school's Little Free Library is also closed. Working for Kids has worked to relocate the books and expand the offerings. If you or your family are looking for some new-to-you books to use or could use a little help with food and personal hygiene items, please stop by our community cupboard. It is located at 1315 W. South Street (one block down South Street from Fox Prairie). We typically have canned and non-perishable food, many snack items, personal hygiene supplies and books for all ages. We utilize rigorous hygiene practices in the handling of items and encourage visitors to do the same.
This project receives ongoing funding support from Working for Kids and has received many donations of items from the community.
Fox Prairie Garden Committee
Hi Families,
If you have extra plants or seeds after planting your garden, we would love to use those in the Fox Prairie Garden!
We have a wonderful Boy Scout Troop helping us with the garden this year. But we could always use more help with planting, weeding, and harvesting vegetables. This year we will be taking vegetables to the Community Cupboard located at 1315 W South (1 block down from Fox).
Please sign up at this link if you can help! This is a new link we are sharing with the Boy Scout Troop.
