Principal's Message

This is a very exciting time at Elmdale School! For the past couple of weeks the hallways have been buzzing with the energy of teachers getting their classrooms ready for the new school year. Mr. Johnson and his team did a great job of cleaning the school, so it looks beautiful! We are very excited to see the students stream through the doors on Wednesday morning.

For myself, this is my very first Principal's Message as the Principal of Elmdale School. Walking down the hallways brings back very fond memories of my time here as a student, and I am very excited to now have my name on the door of the principal's office! Elmdale has a long history of providing a quality education in a nurturing environment and it is my goal to continue that legacy.

Numeracy (math) and literacy (reading and writing) are of course very important skills that we focus on in the early years, but we know that there are many other skills that are important in educating a child. We want our children to be critical thinkers, communicators, collaborators, and so on. Our focus on Deeper Learning, including Inquiry helps to grow and foster these skills.

Thank you for partnering with us in educating your children. I look forward to meeting you all and getting to know you and your families.

HANOVER PARENT & CHILD COMMUNITY PROGRAM

The Hanover Parent and Child Lending Library would like to invite Elmdale parents and their preschool children to visit our free weekly program each Wednesday afternoon in Hut #2 from 1:30 - 3:30 beginning September 19. Please note that families can attend weekly or just drop in when they can. We will follow the school schedule according to closure days. Finally, we ask that parents please park in the designated parking areas.

Religious Exercises and Instruction

Family Parking

Located in our main parking lot on the North side of our school, we have our Family Parking lot. This is where all families park to pick up and drop off children. Parents must walk their child from their vehicle to the school playground. Please be aware that at these pick up and drop off times, we have school buses that enter and exit the school parking lot.

"Soup's On" School Lunches

"Soup's On" provides daily school lunches to families in need. It can be started and stopped as needed. Contact our Resource Teacher Ms. Rose Friesen (rfriesen@hsd.ca) or your child's teacher via agenda book to register your child.

Bus Times, Routes & Address Changes

Please check our website for the bus pick up times and location near your house.
If your address has changed, please call transportation at 204-320-2347 to make sure that your children are riding the correct bus to and from school.
