Differences Between WIDA ACCESS Raw Scores, Scale Scores, and Proficiency Levels?
Your students' ACCESS for ELLs scores are available online at WIDA DRC. You'll log in, go to Report Delivery, then Test Results to see the student score reports. Paper reports will be mailed to schools on August 10.
Raw Scores show the actual number of items the student answered correctly. This score doesn't take the difficulty of the questions into account, so it doesn't help educators understand student performance as well as other scores. For this reason, raw scores are not included on the student score reports.
Scale Scores do take item difficulty into account, so educators can use them to examine groups of students, or to note student progress over time.
Proficiency Level Scores provide an interpretation of the scale scores. They align to the WIDA English language proficiency levels one through six.
