Instructional Focus
New Sign in Procedures:
Staff at gates will no longer have sign in sheets and visitor stickers. Parents are allowed to be on campus, but will need to sign in at the front office if students are on campus.
With the number of custody issues, orders of protection, and foster students, the office are the most current on who is allowed on campus, and who isn't.
Of course there will be some that don't like this, but ultimately, this was a district recommendation to ensure the safety of all our staff and students.
New Door Magnets
Please watch the following video to show how they are used: (less than 2 minutes)

Grandparents Day Breakfast...
To get grandparents here, it could take some extra scheduling, so please start adding this to your classroom newsletter to "plug" it for us.
Substitute Accommodations....
If you remember we are responsible for ensuring that our students on IEP's, 504's and/or have medical needs will receive their accommodations in the event there is a substitute teacher.
We decided last year to make these uniform throughout the school and use the same document. Attached is the template that we will use for this. Before you make changes, please "Make a Copy."
A copy is due to me by September 1. Keep one for yourself that you can place with your substitute plans when you are out.
Dandy Lions.....
6th grade even has some in the box (that never happened with the old ones).
First drawing to read them during announcements will be next week.
Shout outs:
- A huge thank you to Cathy, Susan, Sonja, Julie, Ricardo, Kevin, Helen, and Amada for all their hard work in the cafeteria this week. We have added some things to provide more structure, and they have worked SO hard in enforcing them!!! Thanks!!
- Thank you to Tracey and Darlene for being patient with a bus that seems to run on it's own schedule
- Thank you sixth grade for working so hard on developing student schedules this week!
- Thank you to Kristy, Kim, Sue, Melissa, Mary, and Janice for administering DIBELS ALL week.
- Huge thank you to the Special Areas team for being flexible with the schedule! I know that nobody really wanted this change in schedule, but I appreciate you all working hard to make it come to fruition.
- Thank you Lynn for all your hard work in learning this new online registration system and getting everything input. She has probably worked more hours than anyone the last couple weeks.
- Thank you to Stephanie Usrey for being an amazing proof-reader!! She spotted that Outstanding was spelled wrong on each of our PBIS posters. Luckily the company is reprinting them for all of us.
- Thank you to Julie Murphy for getting me out of a tight spot today with a class that needed a substitute on short notice. Thanks for being a team player!
