We're happy to announce that starting in September, there will be a second Book Club at Casa Italiana!

All books will be read and discussed in Italian.


Date: Second Saturday of each month, beginning September 12th.

Book: L'amica ideale di Elena Ferrante (There will also be a viewing of the film upon completion of the book)

A love story ment for Opera lovers.

The story takes place in Verona, home of the famous Arena and of the most famous lovers Romeo and Giulietta. Vladimir, an italo-russian young man is looking for his father who abandoned him when he was very young. In search of his lost father in Verona, Vladimir finds not only his father but love and a place in the world of opera.

Saturday, June 13th, 3pm

Italian Conversation Hour with Giovanni


The host will be Giovanni Minicucci, exchange student from Italy here in Rochester. The event will start at 3 PM. Try to connect a bit earlier to make sure that everything works. As always we will talk about grammar and vocabulary doing some readings and comprehension and we will go into the breakout rooms so we can conversate in Italian. We will translate some sentences from Italian to English and English to Italian.

If you want to have those sentences to translate and some grammar exercises earlier than Saturday, send an email to: gm.minicucci@gmail.com.

Everyone is welcome to participate and it's free. Join also if you just want to say hi! :) Try not to forget our beautiful language.
