Calkins fought to attend Harvard,but even with all the requirements necessary she was denied from getting her PhD.


Opened up one of the first Psychological laboratories at Wellesley College.


First female president of the American Psychological Association and the American Philosopher Association.

Invented the paired-associate technique which helped studying memory.


She was a huge part of studying the contents of dreams. She discovered the close connection between the dream life and the waking life.


Calkins was also very dedicated to the idea of self-Psychology. The importance of selves was very crucial to her and her research.
