Field Flash
May 24, 2021
Dear Field Parents and Guardians,
It is hard to believe we are starting the last five-day week of the school year and the final week of May! We've wrapped up our spring MAP tests for 2nd-5th graders; our 5th graders will complete the Illinois Science Assessment on Monday and Tuesday this week, and our kindergarten and 1st grade students will complete FastBridge assessments for reading and math beginning June 1st. We are so proud of how hard our students have worked this year!
Arrival & Dismissal
As the weather warms up, we know many families are arriving earlier and/or remaining after school on our black top and playground. Please know that there is not school supervision before school or after school on the playground, and parents are asked to actively supervise the children in their care. Roughhousing, play fighting, and/or physical contact are not permitted during the school day, and we'd appreciate our students refraining from these behaviors while on school grounds after school, too. Our school playground has been closed before school, and we'd appreciate if you continue to arrive close to the 8:40 a.m. time frame these last few weeks and avoid morning playground play. Thank you!
Incoming Kindergarten Orientation
We were glad to see many parents at Kindergarten Orientation earlier this month. We emailed a link to the video presentation, which is also posted on our website here. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Student Registration for 2021-2022
Please do complete your child(ren)'s registration for next school year as soon as possible. In order to be placed into a class, your child does need to be fully registered. We also make hiring decisions based on the number of students fully registered. So the sooner we have that information, the better we are! Thanks for your attention to that. If you have questions, please connect Ruth in the main office.
Mask Wearing, Social Distance
- It is important for us to remain vigilant with our children's mask wearing, social distancing, and the daily self-certification/lanyards.
- Please review proper mask wearing with your child(ren), ensuring they know and understand the importance of keeping the mask over their nose and mouth. Also, please be sure masks remain on during arrival and dismissal.
- Please see Dr. Olson's email from Wednesday. As he shared, we continue to ask all adults and children to remain masked on school property unless you are able to maintain 6 feet distance.
- In addition, all adults and children will remain masked inside the school building through the end of this school year.
Student Dress Code
As the weather warms up (hopefully!), please do take a look at the student-parent handbook online which details our District 64 student dress code. Please be sure students are wearing appropriate clothing (shorts, shirts, tank tops). Thank you!
We hope that you and your family have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Courtney Goodman
Principal

MEDICATION PICK-UP AS SCHOOL ENDS
Dear Parent/Guardian:
If your child has been taking medication at school, please plan to pick up any remaining in the school health office on the last day of school, June 10, 2021. Medication not claimed by the last day of school will be discarded. Please do not pick up emergency medication prior to the last day of school.
Medication prescribed for use during the upcoming school year (2021-22) requires submission of a new Medication Authorization Form (and Allergy Action Plan and Asthma Action Plan, if applicable). Forms are available on the Health Services page of the District 64 website.
If your child is attending Worlds of Wonder or Extended School Year (ESY) you are responsible for transporting medication to the summer school location, and for picking it up at the end of the session(s).
Please call the Building Nurse in your child’s school health office if you have questions.
Best wishes for a safe, healthy, and happy summer!
