Math - Mr. Smith
7th grade math students have spent the majority of the week without their math teachers as we attended the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Regional Conference in Orlando. Before we left however we engaged our students in focused instruction in developing skills to add and subtract rational numbers. These skills require incorporating all previous knowledge of fractions and decimals but now to include operations with negative numbers. Students have spent the majority of the week practice these skills. Next week we will work together to refine our understanding and resolve student questions. I anticipate we will have a test on this topic by mid to late week. Students are remind that your test questions are included in your homework assignments.
Drama - Mrs. Keenan
We finished drafting our ground plans and elevations for scenic design! Students will now move into learning about and creating a conceptual costume design for a character in the play "Flowers for Algernon."
Science - Mrs. Griffin
The students will finish soil erosion and start the unit on chemistry this week. There will be no major test this week. Grades will come from USA Test Prep, Study Island and other teacher assignments.
Science - Mrs. Sexton
We are working on reading the periodic table in our Chemistry Unit. Students will learn how to balance basic chemistry equations next week.
Have a great weekend!
