Detroit art bankruptcy
By: Kiya Carr
Facts
Lots of the art was created long ago, about in the 1700's, 1800's, 1900's and maybe even current art. Selling the art would prevent people to visit the art museum because the owners of the art now keep it, they don't let other people see it.(unless you know them).
People go to the art museum to see beautiful art and learn more about each piece, but if there selling the art then there will be less and less art, until the art museum may have to close down.
My opinion
In my opinion Detroit shouldn't sell its finest art. For example, even if they do sell the art, it wouldn't be enough money to pay. The debt cost 18 billion dollars, and the art cost 5 billion , it would not be enough to pay.
Art should not be sold, I think Detroit should choose something else that they own to pay. I think art is way too important to sell, the governor needs to find something else to sell in my opinion.
