AP/Dual Enrollment/STEAM Night - February 4, 2015

Attention all 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th Grade Students and Parents - Be sure to reserve Thursday, February 4, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. (HS Cafeteria) as an opportunity to learn more about HS Scheduling opportunities in AP/Dual Enrollment/STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) courses for the 2016-2017 school year. Representatives from Montgomery County Community College will be available along with the Western Center. This is the perfect opportunity for parents and students to learn about the benefits of Advanced Placement Courses and how students can earn college credit while attending high school.

8th Grade (9th Grade Scheduling) Meeting Moved to Feb 8th

The PGHS Counselors will be hosting an information session on HS scheduling for all 8th grade parents on Monday, February 8th at 6:30 p.m. in the HS Cafeteria. During this session, parents will learn about high school courses, scheduling, and course selection. Plus, the School Counselors will provide parents with important updates to guide parents and students in scheduling for the 2016/2017 school year.

SAT Catalyst Bootcamp Coming to PGHS

Is your son or daughter preparing to take the New SAT this Spring? If so, they will want to enroll in the SAT Catalyst Bootcamp being held at Pottsgrove High School on Saturday, February 27 and Sunday, February 28 from 9:00-1:00 p.m.


Reserve the date as registration materials will be out later this week.

Renovation Updates

The next phasing of renovations has begun as the contractors renovate rooms 001, 002, 002A, 003, and 004. These rooms and the hallway (from Room 001-004) will be closed to students during the school day.


The next phasing of renovations will begin in March. This includes the renovation in our Aux. Gym and in April the contractors will begin to work on our auditorium.

PTSA Fundraiser A Sweet Deal for ALL

ATTENTION:

Every 1st Wednesday of each month from 6:00 am to 8:00 am, the Pottsgrove High School Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PGHS PTSA) will receive 10% from all purchases made by our High School Community & its Friends at Paradise Donuts!!

The shop is located in Sanatoga at 2170 East High Street near the old Kmart store.

Important Reminders for 2015-2016 School Year

Important Updates Regarding Renovations and Start of School

  • Main Entrance: The School's Main Entrance will be the Gymnasium entrance from the south parking lot - the main lobby will be closed for construction
  • Parking: The parking lot in front of the school and district office is closed to high school students, visitors, and parents. All high school students, visitors, and parents should be parking in the south parking lot and entering through the new gymnasium entrance. Student Parking will continue to be held in the South Parking Lot - Parking Permits will be given out once school begins
  • Arrival/Dismissal: - From November 16, 2015 on, all buses will Pick Up/Drop Off at the Cafeteria Entrance.
  • Parent Drop Off will be at the 100 Wing Entrance, off of School Lane
