Panther Prowl

Corona High School - A Tradition of Excellence Since 1896

Greetings Panther Families

Corona High School is transitioning to online enrollment in an effort to make the process more seamless and convenient. Details are provided in the two flyers below. One important feature is that the process must be completed via a computer, not a mobile device. We will have labs available for parents without computer access. Should you have additional questions, please call 951-736-3211.

Here's your Panther Prowl for March 16, 2018.

CABE BEST Awards

The California Association of Bilingual Educators (CABE) and the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) sponsor the annual Bilingual Educators Succeeding Together (BEST) awards to honor those individuals who do exceptional work in supporting English Learners and Bilingual Education. Because this is the responsibility of many individuals, there are several categories that are honored. Last year we had one of our very own Panthers receive recognition at the 2017 BEST Awards, and this year we have yet another Panther who is deserving of a BEST Award. Mrs. Elizabeth Maciel, our Library Media Tech and Co-EL Coordinator, has been selected to represent CNUSD as our Site Support Person of the Year! Mrs. Maciel has an 11-year history of working closely to support our EL students and their families, so this recognition comes as no surprise to anyone here at Corona High School. Congratulations to Mrs. Maciel on her 2018 BEST Award!

Athletics News

Baseball: USA Today's Super 25 High School Baseball teams includes Corona High School ranked at #4 in the nation! We "are already off to a good start this year with a lot of young talent." Earlier this week we won our league opener against Santiago, 6-3, at home. Tonight we will play Norco High School under their lights (weather permitting). Although the season is still young and our league is one of the toughest in all of Southern California, this should be an amazing season. Keep it up, Panthers!

Pep Squad: There is a mandatory parent/guardian and student meeting on Wednesday, March 21st at 6:30 pm in our Performing Arts Center for any students interested in joining the 2018-19 Pep Squad.

Textbook Room News

Parents, every year as we near graduation students are notified of outstanding textbooks that can lead to obligations. These outstanding books can end up costing the school thousands of dollars collectively if not returned. For seniors, this may result in withholding of the diploma. As notices are sent home regarding obligations from our textbook room, please work with your students to ensure that all books are returned. You may contact Mrs. Rapp (mrapp@cnusd.k12.ca.us) in the textbook room if there are questions regarding this issue.
