Dear Alex and Peyton:
I would like advice on… how to not be petty. Being petty is something I have a serious problem with. My salt is just too much sometimes and it makes people uncomfortable.
~ The way to stop being petty is, if you are in a situation where you think you’re gonna act or say something petty, think first and try re-wording it to make it sound better. If that doesn’t work, put a rubber band around your wrist and every time you act or say something petty, snap the rubber band. You’ll eventually get better with controlling your pettiness.
I would like advice on… dealing with my temperament and attitude. I’m easily irritated, and as kind and polite as I am, I still find myself being rude and not caring anymore. I’d like to know how to manage it. Thank You!
~ To work on your attitude, if you have a feeling that you’re about to say or do something with an attitude, just don’t say or do it, or try to find a nice way of saying it. If you get easily irritated, try taking deep breaths when you do feel irritated. It does help because it works for me when I feel irritated.
I would like advice on… boys. There is this guy I like, and I want to know what he likes and how to talk to him.
~ Talking to boys is not as hard as it seems. All you have to do is be yourself and walk up to him. Just say, “hey!” Then start up a conversation. Ask him about his hobbies, what sports he plays, what animal he likes, etc. Those ideas can start up a convo and yall will talk, and talk, and talk. Then you will know more about him and then maybe become friends.
I would like advice on… how not to be shy.
~ If you are shy and you don’t want to be shy anymore all you have to do is not care what other people think and just act or say what you want. If the teacher is speaking and she says something that might not be right, all you have to do is raise your hand and ask him or her for clarification. You will look smart and just maybe add a couple new friends.

Literature: Our Favorite Short Story this week
The first day, the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.
Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.
The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, "You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry. The wound is still there."
Restaurant of the Week:
"The "El Rancho Mexican Restaurant" was designed to make you feel as in a traditional Mexican ranch. A stone terrace with columns and a fireplace to begin the experience. The place is designed for you to relax and enjoy a sample of Mexican Culture.
Families with children as well as big groups of friends or business are welcomed. We can even accommodate your group in a private room.
"We have a large bar semi-rounded, made of beautiful wood, installed television sets to watch sports or news around important events."
