Dining Night Out at Timberwood Grill on October 17
Timberwood Grill in Forest Lakes is donating 10% of all sales on Tuesday, October 17 from 4 pm until close to the Hollymead PTO, including to-go orders, for our first Dining Night Out of the school year. There's no need to say you're there for Hollymead; proceeds will be donated automatically. We look forward to seeing your support of a local business and Hollymead!
Fall Fest on October 20
Stock the Lounge for Parent-Teacher Conferences
Many thanks for providing your donations to treat the staff and for visiting the PTO table during the scavenger hunt at Back to School Night! Another opportunity to stock the teachers' lounge is open for Parent-Teacher Conferences being held on October 25 and 26. Sign up today to provide food, beverages, or supplies, or to make a direct donation.
Please drop off all donated items to the Hollymead front office by 1 pm on Wednesday, October 25. Thanks for helping shower our staff with appreciation!

Students will not be dismissed to clubs without notification of a change to their dismissal plans. And don't forget to pack an extra snack!
Volunteer Openings and Easy Ways to Support the PTO
The success of the PTO depends on you! We rely on your help, passion, and engagement to support our school community. Interested in getting involved? We need volunteers for the following positions:
- Book fair
- Race Matters series volunteer
- Dining night out
- Spirit wear
- President
- Volunteer coordinator
- Vice president
- Treasurer
- Marquee
- Yearbook
Complete our volunteer interest form or email hollymeadptovolunteer@gmail.com to see how you can share your time and talents.
Even if you can't volunteer your time, you can still take a few simple actions to support the PTO:
- Participate in our guilt-free fundraiser and make a donation via PayPal! We want to remove the hassle for families to buy or sell goods to support our fundraisers. Instead, you can make a donation, and 100% of your contribution will go directly to the PTO. Remember to note "donation" when completing the transaction.
- Update your grocery cards to benefit Hollymead Elementary (Kroger: Hollymead ID# 80574 and Harris Teeter: Hollymead ID# 5899). These must be updated every year.
- Download the Box Tops app and earn funds for Hollymead. Learn more and download the app here.
ACPS and HES News and Reminders
- The HES food drive ends this Friday, October 13! Support the pantry that serves the Hollymead community by making a donation by grade level (preschool & K: snacks; 1st: soup; 2nd: tuna or chicken in cans or pouches; 3rd: fruits or veggies in cans or cups; 4th: jelly and peanut or nut butter spreads; 5th: pasta and sauce).
- ACPS is seeking food service associate substitutes. Working as a food service associate substitute is a great way to be a part of the school day, make some extra money, and still be home when the school day ends. If you or someone you know is interested, please apply on Albemarle County Schools job posting website. Please contact ACPS with any questions about the positions at 434-295-0566.
- ACPS wants your feedback on the Technology & Digital Citizenship Field Guide for ACPS Families. Use this link to read the guide and to provide the ACPS Department of Technology with feedback as they work towards a third edition.
