Lombard District 44 Update
2019-2020 End of Year Update
Celebrating the 2019-2020 School Year in Lombard District 44
As our schools conclude or continue with their end of year backward parades, organize for GWMS Promotion, honor retiring staff members, recognize the achievement of their students, and participate in other activities, we are reminded how much there truly is to celebrate this school year. When faced with unprecedented challenges, we came together as a community to support all of Lombard's children.
This morning, Superintendent Ted Stec shared many of these remarks with staff throughout the district. We wanted to take a moment to share one portion of his presentation, which includes some powerful statistics about what we were able to achieve together. The video also includes some highlights about what our staff can expect this summer, which will include ongoing communication once more details are known about what the start of school will look like for next year.
To further support our staff, we also will be launching a new in-house professional development program focused on trauma-informed teaching. Now more than ever we are focused on connecting with our students and staff, and this program will enhance our abilities to do so.
While many things have changed and will continue to change, our commitment to supporting and engaging with our students has never wavered.
We hope all of our families have a summer filled with joy and good health. And, just as we have promised our staff, we will be in contact and continue to share frequent updates about what the start of school will look like next year once further guidance issued.
